Hydel Power Projects

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been blessed with huge potential of around 25,000 Megawatt hydel power generation registering 41% of the total generation capacity of the country.

This potential is available on Indus, Siran, Chitral, and Swat rivers. All these locations are not only near to the road link but are also quite secure sites.  KP-BOIT in collaboration with Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organization (PEDO) and Energy Department is geared up to facilitate investors in getting their application processed within shortest possible time and in this connection format of feasibility study is being revised / reviewed to cater for all such information required to get the NOC’s of various departments in one go.

Efforts are also underway for speedy processing of application in PESCO and NEPRA. The World Bank has offered loan to hydel projects both medium & large size at reduced interest rates which will be available through the Provincial Government.
